Community Service Award
The Quest for Success Awards Luncheon originated in 1985. "The Quest" is co-sponsored by the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce, Miller Brewing Company, The Dallas Morning News, Bank One-Texas, with WFAA-TV, Inc. joining in 1995. This annual event is featured in February.
The Quest for Success Award recognizes 12 African American entrepreneurs in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area honoring their significant contributions to the business and civic communities. The recipients are selected from nominations submitted by individuals in the community and the business sector. Quest Award recipients represent diverse careers and are from a variety of sizes of companies, firms, and the health care field.
Anyone may participate in the nomination process, however, the Quest nominees must meet the following criteria: (1) Nominee should be in business for more than three years; and, (2) Nominee should be actively involved in some type of community organization.
The annual Quest program is comprised of various workshops, with topics ranging from banking to proprietorship, are conducted by prominent business experts. The program culminates with a luncheon, and the Quest for Success recipients are featured in a special video presentation highlighting their "secrets of success".
Individuals and area businesses and corporations have an opportunity to support the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce through this prestigious event via attendance and/ or patronage in the Quest for Success Awards Souvenir Program Booklet. Since participation generally ranges from 1600 to 2000, the Quest for Success Luncheon serves as a prime networking tool for DBCC members and attendants. Even though the main goal of the Quest for Success Awards Luncheon is to honor those 12 outstanding African American entrepreneurs, it is also designed to be advantageous and rewarding for everyone.
